Do our pets speak our language?

Communicating with our pets is more about being quiet and listening to what they want us to know, than us speaking our language to them. Do we take the time to hear their small voices? If we don't, they will try to make their needs more obvious to us by speaking louder in ways that we don't always appreciate! For example, your cat may want her litter box cleaned and meow or show you with body language that he/she needs this done. If you don't take the time to notice this, she may express this need, further, to get your attention, by not using her litter box! Your dog may want a toy or something to play with because he's bored. He or she tries to let you know this, but you don't notice. He/she gets your attention when he chews up one of your shoes.
